Michigan Education Assessment Program (MEAP)
is given annually in grades  3 through 8. These assessments are bases on the Michigan Curriculum Framework and are used as measures of accountability on the Michigan Education Yes! program.

MI-Access is designed for students for whom the IEP Team has determined that the MEAP assessments, even with assessment accommodations, are not appropriate for the student.  These assessments are given annually and the results assessments are also part of the Education Yes! program.

Michigan Merit Exam (MME) is the high school assessment administered in the Spring of each year to all juniors. The test consists of the ACT and WorkKeys tests along with the Michigan tests in Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.  Information on the MME can be found at OEAA site

Additional information and resources for educators, students and parents can be found at the MISD MME support page at:

English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA)  The ELPA is administered to all English Language Learners (ELL) who are enrolled in grades K through 12 and are eligible for limited English proficiency (LEP) services. The term English Language Learner, or ELL, has been adopted by the State of Michigan to refer to students who are limited English proficient (LEP). The administration of the ELPA is one of the first steps in improving the way in which the English language proficiency of all ELL students is assessed. The second step is providing the ELPA Initial Screening as a tool in determining eligibility for LEP services at the time of enrollment. The ELPA Initial Screening version is shorter in length and designed to be scored at the time of administration.
