Overview

The Department of Consultant Services provides service to schools and school districts in the areas of assessment and program evaluation. Professional development in the design and implementation of authentic assessments is available. Particular attention is given to the alignment of curriculum to state and local assessments.

One of the first steps in school improvement is conducting needs assessments. Technical assistance is available for the development of survey instruments for program evaluation and school improvement. The analysis of data is the next step. Schools and school districts can receive technical assistance and facilitation of groups in the area of school improvement and school accreditation. The Assessment and Survey area also provides technical support for grant writing.
