Bilingual Education

The MISD Bilingual/ESL education program provides bilingual instructional assistants who help limited English proficient (LEP)/English Language Learner (ELL) students to learn English and to achieve competency in English language and reading skills, enabling them to have equal access to education in a classroom where English only is spoken.

MEAP & ELL Students
Please click the above link for MEAP accommodations for ELLs.   Teachers must submit an "Assessment Participation for English Language Learners in their First Year in the U.S." form to document a student's excuse from participation in the English Language Arts of MEAP or MI-Access.  Please click this link for a copy of the form.
