Three of our students had the opportunity to go to Lifetown again this year in October and November. This is the 3rd year our students have been able to go on this trip to an indoor community where we are able to practice the skills we need for the real world. We pay for purchases with real money that we withdrew from the bank at Lifetown, make and keep appointments (at the salon and doctor/dentist office), work on appropriate social skills in the town and in the real movie theater, follow traffic rules while riding a bike and walking across the street using crosswalks (and there is a police officer there to issue a ticket for anyone who breaks the law), and finally we have lunch before it is time to get on the bus to go back to Bovenschen.
