2. Fiber Optic and Cable Equipment
|
Fiber optic service is one component
of the MISD’s “technology toolbox” that
helps support both classroom instruction
and school management for Macomb’s more
than 200 schools. Completed in 2004, our
countywide, highly available,
high-performance fiber optic network
interconnects all districts and MISD
schools as well as the county’s court
system to resources both locally and
globally.
Because of the partnership of schools
and county government, the cost of the
network is more affordable for Macomb’s
schools and our community partners.
Due to the stability of the network’s
configuration and excellent performance
of the installed equipment, there were
no MISD expenditures during 2010-2011
for fiber optic or cable equipment or
operating software for fiber optic or
cable equipment networks.
