Monika Leasure, the Regional Administrator for Career Technical
Education at the MISD is tops, according to the Michigan Career
Leadership Network. Her peers voted to award her the Ralph C.
Wenrich Award for Outstanding Leadership in Career Technical Education.
Monika is the third woman to win the award during its 25-year history,
and the second winner from Macomb County. The first was John
O'Brien, now retired from the MISD.
The comments from her peers in nominating Monika are eloquent, such
as . . .
- "Through her leadership and facilitation, Macomb County has a
Robotics Competition program and an alternative Career Pathways
program for middle school students."
- "A visionary and a person who promotes the talents of those
with whom she works."
- "Equal in stature to the highly qualified individuals who
have received this honor before her."
- "Able to chart a course for the county that consistently kept
the students to be served at the forefront."
