Software Request Process

The purpose of the Software Guidelines for MISD Center Program schools is to insure that all students and staff will be able to access technology equitably using software programs for educational purposes.

.The following software guidelines have been put into place.

  • A process for the review and purchase of additions to the standard software package for each program will be provided (CP Software Request Form). This form must be turned into your building/program's technology representative by Jan 15th to be considered for the following school year. Criteria for choosing new additions will include alignment with the curriculum/program support, quality, application across program/district, cost effectiveness, and ability to be supported.
  • Installation of software will be performed by Management Technology and/or by the Technology Consultant.
  • Exceptions to the standard software package may be requested by staff members throughout the district through a process that includes the following points:
  • Software must be owned by the school/district (must have purchase order or receipt).
  • Software must align with the curriculum.
  • Software must be network compatible and/or otherwise operable with existing computers, software, and related technologies.
  • Software must be unique in that it offers features, experiences, or functions unavailable in the standard software package.
