Process
The purpose of the
Software Guidelines for MISD Center Program schools is to insure that all
students and staff will be able to access technology equitably using
software programs for educational purposes.
.The following software guidelines have been put into place.
- A process for the review and purchase of additions to the standard
software package for each program will be provided (CP Software
Request Form). This form must be turned into your
building/program's technology representative by Jan 15th to be
considered for the following school year. Criteria for choosing new additions will include
alignment with the curriculum/program support, quality, application
across program/district, cost effectiveness, and ability to be
supported.
- Installation of
software will be performed by Management Technology and/or by the
Technology Consultant.
- Exceptions to the standard software package may be requested by
staff members throughout the district through a process that includes
the following points:
- Software must be owned by the school/district (must have purchase
order or receipt).
- Software must align with the curriculum.
- Software must be network compatible and/or otherwise operable with
existing computers, software, and related technologies.
- Software must be unique in that it offers features, experiences, or
functions unavailable in the standard software package.
