Legislation Overview
The Department of Legislation at the Macomb Intermediate School
District was established many years ago at the request of the
superintendents and members of the twenty-one school districts in the
county and the MISD board. The MISD employs a liaison to represent
the Macomb County Schools at the state legislature. Robert LeFevre
serves in that position.
The purpose of this department is:
- Consult with the Macomb County School Board members and
superintendents to initiate and support legislation that will
enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of education for Macomb
County pupils.
- Consult with and seek support from legislators for the position of
the Macomb County board members and superintendents.
- Orchestrate a positive relationship between Macomb County
Legislators, school board members and superintendents for the
improvement of public education in Macomb County and Michigan.
