MI BIG - Inspiration Printing
Instructions
We provide these printing suggestions so that your
printed copies will be as accurate as possible. Before printing the map,
select Print Options in the File menu. Use the tips below to make
selections in this menu before printing your maps.
-
All the maps were created in landscape view. Care
was taken in building the maps to have few symbols on the page
breaks and to center maps on the page. Therefore, if you want to
print full size, poster size maps choose Normal - full size.
Smart page breaks will give huge empty space on many pages. If you
want a one-page map choose Fit to one page.
-
If you want simply a copy of the Standard map,
deselect all check boxes. This will save a lot of paper.
-
Print notes list will give a separate list of
notes for each symbol on the map. The note view was not used in
building these maps.
-
Page ordering makes almost no difference in
the final product, choose whichever layout you prefer.
-
If you want to print all the sub-maps along with the
Standard maps, select Print entire family. This option will
print all the "children" of the symbols on the larger maps
at the same time as the larger map is printed. This is a nice option
if you want ALL the children. If you want selected ones, it is
easier to print from the sub-map window. Every symbol on the map has
a child. Some maps will take 35 pages to print, as each child map
will print on a separate page.
After making these selections in the Print Options
menu, choose Page Setup. In this menu, be sure that you have
selected Landscape. All the maps were created in landscape view
and this will provide the cleanest map printing with fewer errors such
as symbols printing on page breaks. Many of the Print Options
selections will vary depending on the printer you have. You might be
able to increase or decrease of scale of the printed map in this menu.
You might also be able to adjust the colors in which the final product
is printed and make the final copy shades of gray if necessary.
