Scheduling Enhancement Class
Who to attend: SASI Liaison, School Scheduler/Team, and Scheduling Secretary
Date: November 13, 2007 OR November 14, 2007 (pick only one)

Description:
This class will review all available scheduling enhancements written by the MISD.

Scheduling Timeline
Who to attend: SASI Liaison, School Scheduler/Team, and Scheduling Secretary
Date: December 5, 2007
Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Where: MISD Room 100B
Description:
In this class we will review the entire scheduling timeline for the school year, including preliminary tasks, New Year Rollover, the student registration process and getting student requests into SASI, the tally/staffing phase, the build/analyze/balance phase, and the move from Mass Scheduling to Basic Scheduling – the New Year.

Student Registration for Courses & Loading of Student Course Requests

Date: January 9, 2008

Description:
We will review the process for informing students and parents about selecting courses for next year, use of graduation requirements, course catalogue, course selection sheets and course history files to guide the selection process. We will also discuss creating a timeline for the registration process and the use of the different processes for entering student requests into SASIxp including data entry, drag and drop, mass assigning courses or SSS100X – MISD Interactive Course Selection Process, etc.

SSS100x – Student Course Selection Program

Description:
This course is designed for District personnel who will be implementing the Student Course Selection Program (SSS100x).  The topics covered will include: set-up of the program, course file clean-up/set-up, user maintenance and usage of the program.

Tally of Student Course Requests & Determining Staffing for New Year
Who to attend: School Scheduler, Central Office Administrator, and SASI Liaison
Date: February 8, 2008
Time: 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Where: MISD Training Room 203
Description:
We will review the process for using the course tally report in Mass Scheduling to determine which courses and how many sections of each course will be taught next year, and how to use the tally of sections to determine your staffing needs for the new year by using your schools department and seniority structures.

Building and Analyzing Your Schedule: Schedule Pro
Who to attend: School Scheduler/Team, Scheduling Secretary, and SASI Liaison
Date: March 12, 2008
Time: 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Description:
We will review the step by step procedures for setting up, building and analyzing a master schedule using either Mass Scheduling or Schedule Pro. Discussion will include constraints that will affect your schedule, the order in which sections will be scheduled, and the balancing of seats, sections and planning periods.

Building and Analyzing Your Schedule: Mass Scheduling
Who to attend: School Scheduler/Team, Scheduling Secretary, and SASI Liaison
Date: March 19, 2008

Description:
We will review the step by step procedures for setting up, building and analyzing a master schedule using either Mass Scheduling or Schedule Pro. Training Scheduling Team Members to Assist with Fixing Student Schedules/Mass & Basic
Who to attend: Any schedule team member or any staff member (Counselors, Spec. Ed. Staff, ect.) who will be involved with fixing conflicts in student schedules in either or both Mass or Basic/Walk-in Scheduling.
Date: April 1, 2008
Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am

Description:
We will cover how to run reports, determine which students have conflicts or are missing requests, help identify classes (sections) to resolve conflicts or fill open periods, how to fix conflicts and open periods, how to update class size, how to know if there is room in a section for a student, locking and un-locking sections (pre-scheduling and removing pre-scheduling) in both Mass and Basic/Walk-in Scheduling.

Moving from Mass Scheduling to Basic Scheduling – Review and Questions
Who to attend: School Scheduler, Counselor, Scheduling Secretary, and SASI Liaison
Date: April 9, 2008
Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Where: MISD Michigan and Superior rooms
Description:
We will cover the process for completing the build and analyze phase, locking down students schedules, resolving remaining conflicts in student schedules (conflicts need to resolved before moving from mass to basic scheduling), creating the new master schedule file and the new student schedule file, adding new students in basic scheduling, printing student schedules, teacher schedules and class lists.

Scheduling Elementaries
Who to attend: School Scheduler, Elementary Principal, Elementary Office, Staff, and SASI Liaison
Date: April 24, 2008
Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Where: MISD PC Classroom South
Description:
This class will show the user how to create courses, add sections, add students to classes and remove students from classes. This class is for elementaries wanting to use schedules.

Walk-in Scheduling:
Who to attend: School Scheduler, Counselor, Scheduling Secretary, and SASI Liaison
Date: May 20, 2008
Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Where: MISD Michigan and Superior rooms
Description:
This will cover the adding of new student’s course requests and creating their schedule, editing existing student schedules, running reports such as student schedules, teacher schedules, class lists, etc. and answering any Basic Scheduling questions.
