 The booklet of approximately 90 pages is designed to improve
the intellectual quality of student performance while preparing
students for changes in the grade 7 MEAP test for 1997-98 and
for the new generation of testing for 2001-2002 in mathematics.
Assessment activities are provided for each of the six content
strands outlined in the Michigan Curriculum Framework for K-12:
Patterns, Relationships, and Functions; Geometry and
Measurement; Data Analysis and Statistics; Number Sense and
Numeration; Numerical and Algebraic Operations and Analytical
Thinking; Probability and Discrete Mathematics. The booklet
consists of three types of assessment: Formative Assessment,
Constructed Response/Open-Ended Questions, and Multiple Choice.
