Target Audience:  Grade 3-12 Mathematics Teacher 

Description: This booklet of approximately 50 pages provides examples of students’ written responses to open ended questions in mathematics that can be used as models with students to improve the quality of their written responses. The booklet attempts to answer the question "What does it mean to communicate well in mathematics?" Included are lists of attributes of quality responses as well as examples of students’ work that exemplify the attributes. The students’ examples represent responses that are clearly communicated to the reader. The booklet also contains problem solving strategies and examples of these strategies in student work. Teachers are invited to repeat the process and submit examples of their students’ work to be included in the next publication
