Purpose

The purpose of this booklet is to describe the course "Data Analysis and Research Methods." This course integrates mathematics and science, is aligned with the Michigan Curriculum Framework for Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies, and is designed to meet the needs of students with a variety of backgrounds and abilities. One purpose of Data Analysis and Research Methods is to make students wise consumers of information and informed citizens in the age of technology and mass communication. Field testing has shown that the activities in "Data Analysis and Research Methods" can be used as a stand-alone course or can be used to complement an existing course.
