Welcome to the Registry of Special Education Students (ROSES) This PC-based program meets and exceeds the current requirements of Michigan Special Education Rules.
This Michigan Rule requires that a registry shall be maintained for all persons with impairments up to 25 years of age, including those persons placed in state and privately-operated facilities.
This rule specifies that the registry shall be an operational, active data base system with the capacity to provide up-to-date pupil counts and other data requirements to the (state) department on a timely basis.
(Rule 340.1861 of the Michigan Revised Administrative Rules for Special Education, effective April 9, 1997)
The ROSES system includes databases components for students, staff, provider assignments, buildings and IEPT meeting management.
Minor components of the ROSES system include supporting tables of valid codes for disabilities, programs, services, counties, districts, buildings, etc.
ROSES has been designed (and is continuously updated) to work with:
· SASIxp. These are general education student records packages from the Pearson Digital Learning Company. ROSES imports General Education demographic data from these records packages, thus helping to synchronize critical identifying data an unique ID Numbers. ROSES exports FTE data to these packages.
· Michigan Single Records Student Database Project (SRSD): Has been supported since the Fall, 2001 Membership Count. SRSD-required fields for Special Education students may be exported from ROSES to another program.
· Macomb SRSDxp: This program is provided by Macomb Intermediate School District to all Michigan School districts to collect and errors check all fields for submission to the Michigan Center for Educational Information (CEPI). ROSES can export special education student data to SRSDxp as part of the tri-annual CEPI-SRSD collection process.
· Michigan Compliance Information System (MI-CIS). ROSES is capable of creating the Active and Exited Student and Personnel files needed for the December Federal Count submission to the Michigan Compliance Information System (MICIS)
· Easy IEP. ROSES exports critical caseload data to this web-based Medicaid Health Services Project. Caseloads maintained by ROSES are regularly updated on the EasyIEP web-site for use by special education staff for tracking their service to students.
