Question

What can I do after my child's IEPT meeting?

Answer

You can do several things after the IEPT.

Keep the IEPT report and all other pertinent special education records together and place them in a safe location.

Visit the school. Get to know your child's teacher and principal. You are an important part of your child's educational team.

Keep positive communication channels open between school and home. Share unexpected information that may affect your child's behavior, i.e., illness, divorce, a new baby, etc.

Do not hesitate to request a conference with your child's teacher any time you have questions or concerns.
