bullet  Our Mission

Support and Related Services (outlined in the Federal Individuals with disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are available to students with disabilities who are enrolled in a special education program.  This department serves students who need support to benefit from their educational program.  
bullet  Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy services are available to students whose physical limitations require therapeutic assistance and/or rehabilitation procedures to support educationally related needs. The objective is for the student to be functional within the educational program.

Physical Therapy provides services for students who have gross motor difficulties secondary to musculoskeletal or nervous system impairments.

bullet  Visual Impairments
Teacher consultants for the visually impaired serve students with visual impairments enrolled in school programs other than those designated specifically for students with visual impairments.
Orientation and mobility training is also available, as needed, for qualified special education students as indicated by the student’s IEPT.

bullet  Vocational Rehabilitation
The program provides service to special education students in the 21 districts of Macomb County and students enrolled in Lutz School for Work Experience and Neil Reid School. Students are initially evaluated through their local school district.

bullet  Nursing Services
A registered nurse provides service to elementary center program for students with Physical or Other Health Impairments (POHI). The nurse acts as the liaison between the physician, parents, and the POHI program and is the resource person for the classroom staff.
