Located in the wooded heart of the thumb, the park features a large slab of stone with Petroglyphs, (Indian carvings) that Archaeologists believe to be between 300 and 1000 years old and the only ones in the lower peninsula. The DNR has erected a large pavilion over the rock, which contains dozens of carvings. There is no entrance fee. A short trail leads from the parking lot a few hundred yards inland to the pavilion.
