Macomb Intermediate School District will accept sealed proposals for the following Categories:

0205 - Selective Demolition

0600 - Carpentry

0960 - Carpeting

0990 - Painting

1580 - HVAC

1600 - Electrical

 

Bids will be evaluated by the Construction Manager, the Architect and the Owners Representatives.

Contractors shall not call the Owner for Bid results.

PROPOSALS

The Macomb Intermediate School District will receive sealed proposals until: 

      2 :00 p.m., local time, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 

at the Administrative Offices of the Macomb Intermediate School District, 44001 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038-1100, Attention: Mari Anne Stefanich, Purchasing/Compliance Officer.  

Proposals received after that time will not be accepted.  All proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud at the same time and place.  All interested parties are invited to attend.


 

BIDDING DOCUMENTS 

Bidders may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the office of The Construction Manager beginning on          September 30, 2008 on a loan basis as follows: 

1.         One (1) copy of the Project Manual, plus One (1) complete set of prints of Drawings upon payment of $50.00 deposit, completely refundable if all sets are returned in good condition to the Construction Manager within ten days after the bid opening.  Make checks payable to Macomb Intermediate School District. 

2.         Additional copies of the Project Manual, including Specifications, plus additional sets of prints of the Drawings, may be purchased for the cost of reproduction and handling, non-refundable by ordering from the Architect. 

3.         No partial sets will be issued

Proposed Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations during normal business hours by prospective bidders:

PREBID CONFERENCE 

A Pre-Bid conference will be held for all trades to review the existing site conditions.  The existing site conditions, phasing/sequencing and requirements of the Contract Documents will be reviewed at this time.  Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is recommended and highly encouraged for all trades bidding the project. 

The Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., local time, at the MISD Educational Service Center located at 44001 Garfield, Clinton Township, Michigan, Room No. 205. 

BID PROPOSAL GUARANTEE 

Each proposal must be accompanied by an acceptable bid security in the form of a certified check, cashiers check or standard form bid bond, made payable to Macomb Intermediate School District in an amount no less than five percent (5%) of the base bid submitted.  Failure of any accepted Bidder to enter into contract for the work will cause forfeit of his bid security.  After contracts for the work have been signed, all bid securities will be returned.  To the extent of any interest earned while holding bid security, interest well be retained by the Macomb Intermediate School District. 

PERFORMANCE BOND AND LABOR AND MATERIAL PAYMENT BONDS 

100% Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will be required on any individual Contract  in the amount of $50,000.00 or more.  Costs of bonds shall be included in the Base Proposal.

FAMILIAL RELATIONSHIP DISCLOSURE 

As required by State Law (P.A. 232 of 2004), all proposals/bids must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the Owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Macomb Intermediate School District Board or the Superintendent of the School District.  The Board will not accept a bid that does not include this sworn and notarized statement.
 

PROPOSAL ACCEPTANCE 

Bids may be withdrawn up to the time and date of bid opening.  After bid opening, bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days thereafter.

TENDERS 

The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularity or informality in bids, to reject any and/or all bids, in whole or in part, or to award any Contract to other than the low bidder, should it be deemed in his best interest to do so.
