SWIFTPENS
The need for improved writing proficiency among high school students is significant. Writing well is not just an option for students---it is a necessity. Along with reading comprehension, writing skill is a predictor of academic success and a basic requirement for participation in any higher education endeavor and/ or in civic life. Teachers who attend this training will receive a best practice approach to assist students with “Writing to Learn” and “Learning to Write.” This user friendly approach will be easily transferred into practice by Middle and High School Teachers.

Macomb Reading Council
The Macomb Reading Council is the local chapter of the Michigan Reading Association. Our purpose is to offer opportunities for educators to connect with colleagues who share an interest in literacy so that all students, preK-12, have the opportunity to become productive members of society through reading and writing.
