MI Great Parents

  Resources for parents of children ages 0-5.  The site contains links to a wealth of general information resources plus a county-specific listing of resources and activities for families with young children.

  

 

Early Childhood

  Macomb Intermediate School District offers assistance in early childhood education and parent involvement in education for the 21 school districts in Macomb County, Michigan.

  Assessment Center
  Assessment Center Services are available to Macomb County families with children from birth to three years of age who may have a developmental delay.

  

  Early On
  Early On is a statewide early intervention system that provides a range of family services and supports to help infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months who have developmental delays or established conditions that may lead to delays.

  

  Macomb Infant Preschool Program (MIPP)
  The MIPP Program serves children ranging in age from a few weeks to three years who need special education services because of a medical difficulty or developmental delay that can affect learning.

  

 

Meet Some Special Children

  Macomb ISD work cooperatively with parents and educators in local school districts to provide special education services to children like these from birth through age 25. Read a description of some of the children served and the resources available for these children.

 

 

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

  Serves in an advisory capacity to develop the MISD County plan for special education services.  Supports parents in local districts with information about resources available for children with special challenges.
  
 

Project Find

  Reaches out to locate students with special needs who are not receiving services.  Any parent or caregiver who has a concern about their child's development may call Project Find.  There is no charge for evaluations or services.

Free Assistive Technology Tools to Support Reading

  For struggling readers, having text read aloud often provides relief from focusing on the sounds in the words so that more energy can be devoted to understanding the ideas behind the text. Free technology tools that turn ordinary written text into the spoken word are available. This software is commonly referred to as Text-to-Speech, or TTS.

   

 

Making the Right Connection

  A comprehensive resource guide for Macomb County families of community services available in the county.  The resources are organized by the type of problem or concern that the family or individual is facing.

  

 

Parent Help Card

  A wallet-sized card of Free and Low-Cost Services in Macomb County. Developed by the Parent Education Services Subcommittee of the Macomb County Human Services Coordinating Body.
