Apprenticeship |
| The Reading Apprenticeship
Framework is an approach to reading
instruction that helps young people
develop their knowledge, strategies,
and dispositions they need to become
more powerful readers. It is a
partnership of expertise, drawing on
what teachers know and do as
discipline-based readers, and on
adolescents' unique and often
underestimated strengths as
learners.

Strategic
Literacy Instruction and Word Study |
Strategic Literacy Instruction
and Word Study focuses on strategy
instruction and word study tools
that promote teacher facilitation of
adolescent comprehension. This
training will provide teachers with
current research in discipline-based
literacy instruction blueprints and
models, examples of strategy
application in the classroom, and
concrete applications for formative
classroom assessment.
