Macomb PLC Support Network

November 11, 2020 - 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Event Description

Target Audience: Administrators, principals and teacher leaders engaged in the PLC process

Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) have been described as the most powerful school improvement strategy available to educators. To help Macomb County schools implement the PLC process, we have created the Macomb PLC Support Network. This group meets approximately 4 times each year to discuss, study, and share our experiences as we work to become true professional learning communities.

Outcomes:

  • Understand the elements of authentic PLCs and how to implement them in local schools
  • Network with other educators dedicated to implementing the PLC process with fidelity
  • Apply the 3 Big Ideas of PLCs in our schools– Focus on Learning, Culture of Collaboration, Results Orientation
  • Utilize the 4 Critical Questions of Learning to improve instruction and student achievement:
  • What do we want students to know and be able to do?
  • How will we know if students have learned?
  • How will we respond when students do not learn?
  • What will we do for students who have already learned?
