Description:
Homelessness of chronic health conditions can affect attendance and academic performance. This session will discuss common chronic health conditions as well as federal requirements for identifying homeless students. Finally, participants will be provided strategies for best supporting these groups of vulnerable students.
Please Note: Most sessions are being planned as face-to-face, or a hybrid offerings. If needed, we are also planning fully remote professional learning sessions. If sessions are being offered remotely, the dates and times are subject to change.
Registering for this workshop automatically enrolls you in the 2023-24 Macomb New Teacher Academy.
First, second, and third year teachers are welcome to attend as many 2023-24 New Teacher Academy workshops as they choose for a yearly fee of $150.00. In this spring of 2024, Macomb County districts will be billed $150.00 per teacher participating in the Academy. Please check with your district regarding payment of this fee (whether you are responsible for payment).
Any no shows/late cancelations will be charged $15.00 per session. Please cancel in writing no later than 7 days prior to the workshop start date. Please email any cancellations to Alex Bryan,abryan@misd.net.
No phone cancellations are permitted.
The NTA will be providing alight meal before each afternoon workshop. In case of special dietary needs, participants should provide their own meals. Adjustments will not be made in menu selections or registration fees.
This workshop is not eligible for Professional Development Funds.
