Interactions Curriculum Support PLC

September 26, 2019 - 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Event Description

Target Audience: High School Science Teachers

This professional learning opportunity will provide ongoing support for teachers utilizing the free OER Physical Science Interactions curriculum. Interactions is the NGSS-designed curriculum and teacher support system that enables high school physical science students to develop an understanding of the forces and energy involved in atomic and molecular interactions. The year-long interactions curriculum can be used in a physical science class, or adjusted to embed units into a chemistry class. Interactions can be offered as a paper-pencil curriculum, with the teacher facilitating web-based simulation activities on a classroom computer, or it can be offered completely online for classrooms where students have personal (or shared) computers. Interactions was the first to receive the NGSS Design Badge from Achieve.org, awarded to top-rated science units designed for the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
