(NTA) Trauma-Informed Resilient Schools

Target Audience: New Teachers (1-3 years)

*NEW TEACHER ACADEMY PARTICIPANTS: Registering for this workshop automatically enrolls you in the 2019-20 Macomb New Teacher Academy. First, second, and third year teachers are welcome to attend as many 2019-20 Academy workshops as they choose for a yearly fee of $125.00. In the spring of 2020, Macomb County districts will be billed $125.00 per teacher participating in the Academy. Please check with your district regarding payment of this fee (whether you are responsible for payment). PLEASE NOTE (New Teacher Academy Participants): We cannot accept credit cards for payment.

(*This workshop is a foundational course, and will be a pre-requisite for other trauma courses)
This course teaches school professionals how to create trauma-informed schools and classrooms. The training focuses on resilience, exploring the core values and beliefs of educators and placing an emphasis on understanding how trauma impacts children and their school experience. Learn proactive strategies such as fostering connections, prioritizing social and emotional skills and establishing safety while promoting play. Presenters: Joyce Arbaugh & Michelle Marcellin
