Using the research from the NCTM publication, “Principles to Actions,” participants will investigate the effective teaching of mathematics through the lens of productive struggle. Productive Struggle should be considered essential to learning mathematics with understanding and help students realize they are capable of doing well in mathematics with perseverance. Participants will engage in activities in which they have the opportunity to analyze classroom dialogue and video to identify teacher and student actions associated with productive struggle. Presenters: Kristi Hineman & Lea McAllister
