Using the research from the NCTM publication, “Principles to Actions,” participants will investigate the effective teaching of mathematics through the lens of using purposeful questions. Questioning needs to assess and advance students’ reasoning and sense making about important mathematical ideas and relationships. Participants will engage in activities in which they have the opportunity to analyze classroom dialogue and video to identify teacher and student actions associated with posing purposeful questions. Presenters: Kristi Hineman & Lea McAllister
