CPI 2-DAY TRAINING WORKSHOP

DAY ONE

INTRODUCTORY SEMINAR

The first day will introduce you to basic crisis intervention techniques. Learn to recognize warning signs that allow for early intervention, plus how to use verbal and non-verbal techniques to avoid a violent confrontation.

bullet Successful Verbal Resolution of a Conflict
bullet Non-Verbal Techniques for Controlling Disruptive Behavior
bullet Why Verbal Aggression becomes Physical
bullet Dealing with Fear and Anxiety

DAY TWO

WORKSHOP

The second day of the workshop trains participants in safe physical intervention procedures, including when to restrain and transport the acting-out youth.  An effective team approach to intervention will be introduced.

  • Personal Safety: When and how to Restrain Safely

  • From Control to Transport

  • Team Intervention

  • Tension Reduction after Intervention

  • Post-Test for Certification
