Event Description

This is a three-day workshop

Day 1 - September 22nd, 2026 from 8:30 A.M.-3:00 P.M.

Day 2 - September 23rd, 2026 from 8:30 A.M.-3:00 P.M.

Day 3 - September 24th, 2026 from 8:30 A.M.-3:00 P.M.

 

3-D Science Teaching: Empowering students to explore and investigate phenomena.  This professional development workshop is designed to equip educators with the skills and strategies needed to effectively teach the Michigan Science Standards through a phenomena-based approach.  Participants will explore how to engage students in scientific practices such as modeling, questioning, arguing, and more to build deep understanding of scientific concepts.  The course will focus on practical methods for fostering critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving skills in the classroom, with an emphasis on how to align instruction with the performance expectations of the Michigan Science Standards.  Teachers will leave with a toolkit of strategies and resources to implement in their classrooms to create a dynamic, student-centered science learning environment.
