9. Public Relations, Polling, Lobbying, and Legal Services
The MISD provides leadership and support to local districts in implementing federal and state mandates, such as No Child Left Behind, and the new Michigan Merit Curriculum. The MISD also helps districts shape policy for education by providing analysis outlining the implications of proposed federal and state legislation, public opinion on issues impacting education, and legal issues affecting schools.
The district uses the additional expertise of outside professionals to help us understand and communicate about these far-reaching and complex issues.
