Event Description
The Summer Scholars Program is an instructional school-based program targeting literacy and math intervention for students entering Grades 2-5, with identified needs in literacy and math. Districts will offer in person for registered students. Students will be engaged in comprehensive and meaningful literacy and math instruction using evidence based practices to address their individual needs. The goal of the Summer Scholars Program is to strengthen literacy and math achievement for students entering grades 2-5.
Staffing Information:
Teachers will attend literacy and math training. Teachers will choose one date for each.
Literacy Training Dates:
- June 10, 12:00pm-3:00pm
- June 10, 4:30pm-7:30pm
- June 11, 4:30pm-7:30pm
- June 12, 8:30am-11:30am
Math Training Dates:
- June 10, 8:30am-11:30am
- June 10, 4:30-7:30pm
- June 12, 12:00pm-3:00pm
- June 12, 4:30-7:30pm
A light meal will be provided for all evening sessions
If teachers attend two consecutive daytime sessions, lunch will be provided.
Teachers will be compensated for 6 hours of training (3 hours for literacy and 3 hours for math)
Teachers will be compensated up to 4 hours a day of instructional time
Teachers will be compensated up to 1 hour a day for prep time
Teachers will be compensated up to a total of 4 hours for set up prior to the start of camp
Substitutes will not be provided by the MISD
There will be no more than 15 students per classroom
