Event Description

Target Audience: Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Curriculum Directors, Special Education Directors, Building Administrators, Teacher Leaders, and Leadership Teams. 

Overcoming resistance to change is typically the most difficult challenge in school improvement. This session will help leaders understand how to support educators as they make this seismic shift in their practice. We will examine the power of a balanced and methodical approach to change management which establishes a balance between support and accountability. We will concentrate on four critical leadership skills: Communication (WHY?), Trust Building (Who?), Capacity Building (How?) and Accountability (Do). 

Participants will understand:

• The leader’s role and responsibility in leading change
• The legitimate needs that have to be met before change can be expected
• How to monitor change using a protocol that can greatly increase the likelihood of systemic implementation of the PLC process
