Through ongoing practice, you can build your observation skills and develop different ways to document and interpret your observations. In this session participants will learn how to properly take an anecdotal note and walk away with tips and strategies to help streamline the process.

    Target Audience: GSRP Teaching Teams and all Early Childhood Educators Print awareness refers to a child’s understanding about print, such as the fact that print represents words and conveys meaning. Reading print from the world around us is one of the beginning stages of literacy development. Environmental print is the print of everyday life. It is a natural starting point to teach young children to read and write. In this workshop you will walk away with practical, meaningful, and engaging print awareness activities that you can implement in your classroom. During this professional session you will learn a wealth of exciting activities to encourage pre reading and early literacy skills.

    Target Audience: Macomb Districts Only: All early childhood educators who use Creative Curriculum in the preschool classroom Day 1, April 28, 2022 - Virtual Zoom Day 2, April 29, 2022- In person at the Macomb ISD Participants must bring the five comprehensive volumes to the training The Creative Curriculum for Preschool defines and incorporates 38 objectives for development and learning that are predictors of school success and tied to early learning standards. Teachers will learn how to design an effective learning environment, develop a daily schedule that reflects programmatic and curricular objectives, and incorporate intentional teaching throughout the day to support each child's development and learning in all areas.
