    Want to try some fun makerspace activities but don’t know where to start? Come check out the MISD MakerSpace and see what is available for you to check out for your classroom. Participants will have the opportunity to tinker with the tools as well as learn about makerspaces. From high tech to no tech, we have it all. Participants will leave the session with a Maker resource to support the learning.

    The in-person 3-day series will focus on the foundations of blended/hybrid/hyflex learning. We will investigate effective utilization of your district's digital tools as well as those available in Macomb County (Schoololgy and Discovery Education Experience). Exploration of Making the Move with Ed Tech: Ten Strategies to Scale Up your In-Person, Hybrid, and Remote Learning will help us take your ed tech skills to the next level. MISD Consultants Jaimie Fons and Kate Grunow will take a deeper dive into your favorite instructional strategies and show you how to scale them up with educational technology in your classroom.

    Discover ideas to enhance your hour of code or even continue it further. We will be looking at MISD resources you can use to create some engaging coding units for your students. Not techy? No problem! We will have no tech and low tech for you to explore. Find out how to check out materials, including classroom sets for your own implementation! Participants will leave the session with a Maker resource to support the learning.

    Participants will be able to explore the MISD Maker Space and learn how to use various robots in the classroom to teach computational thinking. Participants will explore Ozobots, Dash, and Sphero Indy cars to name a few, as well as learn how these tools can be checked out of the lending library. Participants will leave the session with a Maker resource to support the learning.

    End indoor recess nightmares! Learn how to easily incorporate makerspaces/STEAM into indoor recess. Participants will get ideas to incorporate activities like KEVA planks, Makedoo, and Strawbees into indoor recess to get students engaged in creative thinking. Participants will leave the session with a Maker resource to support the learning.

    Join us at our innovative Maker Space for an exciting opportunity to expand your teaching toolkit and empower your students with the wonders of coding! This session will focus on using coding with Micro:bits in the classroom. Check out the curriculum materials using the MakeCode and Python editors and more, get a quick start, and get design ideas for your own lessons for classroom implementation. Participants will leave the session with a Maker resource to support the learning.

    Join us in the MISD Maker Space and level up your Micro:bit knowledge. This workshop is perfect for those who attended Making with Micro:bits or have a basic understanding of the Micro:bit and how it works. We will be building a crane out of Strawbees and programming the Micro:bit to move the crane up and down. Participants will leave the session with a Maker resource to support the learning.
