    The Dash robot is not a remote control toy and the Dot robot shouldn’t just live on a shelf! Attend this workshop to experience mini-lessons you can use to instruct students in how to program the robots using the ipad/android Blockly app for Dash & Dot. Get your students deeply involved in abstraction, collaboration, debugging and more. Learn how the add-on pieces for the robots can be used with Legos to create push bars, carts, and other items for the robots.

    Please join us as REMC hosts "Promoting STEM Through Literature!" Use literature to get your students excited about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by actively involving them in the design thinking process. Develop their inquiry and problem-solving skills, while helping them see that with perseverance, anyone can be innovative and invent new things! We will walk you through a lesson that begins with a reading activity and moves into the design thinking process, focusing on one of the Maker Kit items available for free checkout through your local REMC in Michigan.

    End indoor recess nightmares! Between a lot of indoor days in winter and now a chilly, wet spring, teachers are completely over indoor recess. Learn how to easily incorporate makerspaces/STEAM into that time. Participants will get ideas to incorporate activities such as KEVA planks, Makedoo, Strawbees into indoor recess that would get the students engaging in creative thinking.
