Mathematics Course Offerings

    This event is scheduled for 9:00am to - 11:30am

    The MISD is offering a virtual summer math camp for students exiting 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th grades who believe mathematics is not their strength. Our goal is to communicate the new brain research to math student's virtually and teach them through an approach that is open, creative and visual. Teachers will be required to complete two days of virtual training on June 29, 2020 and June 30, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Upon completion of both sessions, teachers will be eligible for a $100.00 stipend. A zoom link will be sent prior to the training. Schoology will be the platform used to host all materials for this summer camp. Virtual classes will run from Monday - Thursday in 2 hour blocks. One hour will be synchronous with the teacher. Students will be required to have a device and Wi-Fi to complete this course. The remaining hour will be asynchronous with the guidance of the teacher.

    Target Audience: Macomb County GSRP staff and early childhood educators who currently use GOLD in the classroom AND HAVE A GOLD LOGIN. My Teaching Strategies GOLD is a seamless system for assessing children birth through kindergarten. Participants will learn/review the basic skills of the assessment system: Entering notes Assigning levels Printing reports Utilizing strategy information Authentic ongoing observational assessment is critical to planning appropriate learning expectations and helping children thrive!
