Join us for a 2-day workshop delving into the world of Micro:Bits and computer science. Teachers are introduced to physical computing and sensor technologies as they code a simple robotic vehicle to operate autonomously.

The Next Generation Science Exemplar (NGSX) is a professional development program to explore the major ideas found in the National Research Council Framework and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which are the Michigan Science Standards (MSS). 

Target Audience: 5th Grade Teachers  Build your STEM culture one book at a time. This workshop will explore how to integrate select children’s literature titles with STEM concepts and activities in the 5th grade classroom. Engage in a four- unit curriculum full of inventing, engineering, and design thinking! Each book has a corresponding STEM challenge that gently scaffolds for both the teacher and student. Aligned with NGSS, ISTE, SEL and ELA standards- this workshop is approachable and engaging. 

Drones will become the 6th Innovative Vehicle Design Competition! This one day workshop will be a "crash course" in coding and piloting your drone, intro to online curriculum options, ways to best enhance the classroom content for your students, career connections, and grant opportunities for a competitive experience. $25/per person(5th -12th grades) Lunch and one drone included
